Spider Veins of Different Colors

What is the difference - What do they signify

Normal veins carry veneous blood from different parts of the body to the heart and extremeties.  Veins, walls, capillilaries and valves all play an important role in carry blood to and from the art in the circulatory system.

One way valves form and important component of this system is to equalize pressure the length and breadth of the vein - and to ensure blood travels in one direction - either to or from the heart.

If the veins are faulty - considered veneous insufficiency, then blocking, clogging or causing coagulation - resulting in visible string-like symptoms that can manifest themselves as red, blue, purple or in some cases black colors.

The Appearance of Colorin Spider Veins

The diameter of spider veins is usually 1 mm or less, but that is only the part that is visible; the diameter below the surface of the skin could go could go as high as 3 mm - pretty large looking similar to varicose veins.

The smaller capillaries have a pinkish, red color whereas, learger veins tend to be purple or blue.

At times, you may find a "cluster" that have a particular color, appear red, blue or purple.  In more medical or technical terms, this patch is referred to as  "telengiectatic matting".  In common parlance such a condition is called "blushing or matting".

Some people mistake them for bruises and think they will fade over time; however unless or untill you take or have some for of spider vein treatment, these symptoms will rarely fade.

The application of a spider veins treatment cream on affected areas is being seen as a good treatment option by many dermatologists.  Generally enriched with Vitamin K, these creams provide a very widespread remedy for discoloration and prevention.

Red Color - Rosacea

If your spider veins nose or face symptoms or outbreaks - especially on the chin, bridge of the nose, cheeks and foreheard, the chances are you are suffering from a condition known as Rosacea.  Often accompanied or confused with acne, rosacea is often considered "adult acne" yet it is more a result of chronic or temporary inflammation of the skin and capillaries.

Blue Color - Blow Out of Varicose Veins

Blue colored spider veins are more often found in men; the reason being the high pressure exerted by the varicose veins.  This results in the darkening and "fattening" and they appear predominantely blue in hue.  Deeper veins appear, generally more blue-sih their appearance.
